Thunderbolt Marine Inc. (TMI) is a privately held company located on the Wilmington River and adjacent to the historic City of Savannah Georgia. TMI has provided repair and refit services for a wide range of commercial and recreational vessels for more than 50 years, from our 25 acre site, in the Town of Thunderbolt. Our talented craftsmen work on a wide range of vessels from 50 to 225 feet, offering a full array of maintenance and repair services for our customers.

Hydraulics Technician

Learn More An experienced and self-motivated individual who is looking for a challenging and diverse work environment. The position requires relocation to Savannah, Georgia.

Yacht Cabinet Maker / Joiner

Learn More Perform detailed joiner and carpentry repair assignments onboard vessels in conjunction with shop bench work while using wood and other commonly encountered marine joinery materials.

Marine Bottom Painter

Learn More A key position in the yard and applicants will be responsible for applying a variety of marine coatings across a range of vessel types by employing specialized equipment, including spray equipment or by hand application.

Marine Electrician

Learn More Will be responsible for testing, maintaining, repairing and installing marine electrical components primarily on AC / DC electrical systems in yachts and commercial vessels.

Marine Welder / Fabricator

Learn More Perform lay-out, fabrication, fit and welding of components for our customers vessels at all stages of refit and repair. Marine welding and fabrication work will be completed within the metal shop, onboard dry docked vessels, on board dockside vessels in-service and periodically on internal facility projects.

Marine Pipefitter

Learn More Perform lay-out, fabrication, repair, maintenance, removals, assemble and installation of various types of plumbing and pipe systems. Marine pipefitting work will be completed onboard dry-docked vessels, vessels in-service and occasional internal facility projects.

Yacht Rigger

Learn More Experienced and self-motivated individual who is looking for a challenging and diverse work environment. The position requires relocation to Savannah, Georgia.

Marine Canvas & Upholstery Technician

Learn More Candidate must be able to pattern, foam build, assemble and install all aspects of upholstery products found inside and outside on yachts.

Haulout / Yard Hand

Learn More An excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to gain exposure or build upon prior experience hauling and launching vessels in a busy boatyard. This role is ideal for the individual looking for daily diversity and situational challenges.

Marine HVAC-R Technician

Learn More Responsible for the installation and repair of marine air conditioning and refrigeration systems on yachts. Under general supervision, you will conduct preventive maintenance, repair, installation, general servicing and commissioning of marine HVAC and Refrigeration systems and components.

Marine Mechanical Technician

Learn More Service, repair and/or replace vessel machinery such as drivelines (including bearings and seals), main propulsion equipment, hydraulic and electric thrusters, generator plants and all other auxiliary systems.

Marine Mechanical Assistant

Learn More Will repair, replace and install equipment and ancillary components using detailed instructions and under the supervision of a lead mechanical technician.

Yacht Valve Specialist

Learn More Perform maintenance, assessment, repair and testing on various types of valves. This individual will be responsible for performing disassembly, cleaning, inspection measuring, reassembly and testing of various valves.
